🌱 Care Instructions
Watering: Every 10–14 days; allow the top 5 cm of soil to dry between waterings. Water less in lower light or cooler months. Avoid overwatering—roots prefer air as much as moisture.
Light: Medium to bright, indirect light. Tolerates medium light; color is richer and growth steadier in brighter conditions. Keep out of harsh direct sun to prevent tip scorch.
Humidity: Average home humidity is fine. In very dry rooms, occasional misting helps reduce brown tips.
Soil: Well-draining indoor mix with perlite (and a little sand, optional) to keep the root zone airy.
Fertilizing: Feed monthly in spring/summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength. Reduce in fall/winter.
Pruning: Remove lower leaves to raise the canopy and maintain a clean trunk line. Tip-prune to control height—new shoots emerge from nodes for a fuller top.
Support: Generally self-supporting. Stake only if very tall or top-heavy in low light.
⚠️ Warning
Toxicity: Toxic if ingested; keep away from pets and children.
Temperature: Ideal 18–27 °C; avoid cold drafts and temps below 10 °C.
Pests: Watch for spider mites and scale. Wipe leaves regularly; treat early if needed.
Leaf care: Dust monthly for shine and photosynthesis. To minimize tip browning, avoid overwatering and, if possible, use filtered or settled water to reduce salts/fluoride.
